ARLINGTON, Texas- IBPSIA is excited to announce that Matt Cannizzaro has agreed to assist with IBPSIA Public Relations and Communications efforts.
From 2005-2022, Matt had the opportunity to travel the world chronicling and promoting the sport of bowling as a public relations manager for USBC.
This primarily included event coverage and livestreaming from the USBC Open and Women’s Championships, short-duration USBC events and Professional Women’s Bowling Association tournaments, plus covering all aspects of Junior Team USA, Team USA and the USBC record book.
As part of his responsibilities with the Team USA bowling program, Matt had the opportunity to cover events across four continents.
Each year, Matt traveled to the host city of the Open Championships and provided daily coverage (BOWL.com, press releases, social media) and media relations for the duration of the event. At one time, he also oversaw the PR operations at the USBC Women’s Championships and managed the on-site staff there.
While those tournaments were not going on, Matt worked at USBC Headquarters (part of the International Bowling Campus) in Arlington, Texas, where he covered other events and helped share general bowling news.
Prior to his time at USBC, Matt worked in the sports department at the Gainesville Sun in Gainesville, Florida.
As an independent contractor, Matt now is ready to help make the sport of bowling better through other opportunities, while exploring new industries/areas to offer that same dedication and passion.
