Arlington, Texas – The Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America (BPAA) today announced the cancellation of its annual Mid-Winter Bowling Summit in Nashville, Tenn. scheduled for January 17-19, 2021 at the Omni Hotel. Due to a growing number of cases of COVID-19 nationally, CDC forecasts for a surge post-holidays, and overall health and safety guidelines, the BPAA has decided to make the well-being of its 3,400-plus members its top priority.
“Throughout the entire pandemic, the BPAA has stressed to its members the importance of being transparent about all health and safety protocols,” said BPAA President Jim Decker. “We would never want to risk the health of any proprietors during this time, so despite how much we love being able to network and learn from our fellow owners across the country at the summit, we’ve decided to cancel the event to ensure everyone’s safety.”
Each year, the Bowling Summit brings together owners, managers, proprietors, and industry leaders to receive quality education and network with peers in the bowling world.
“The BPAA was proud to bring an exciting lineup of seminars and keynote speakers to the summit this year, but for now, we’ll continue to share our learnings across our network digitally,” said Decker. “The one constant we’ve come to better understand during these fluid pandemic times is to adapt to these ever-changing conditions across the country. While we’re disappointed that we can’t get together in Nashville we’re already pivoting and shifting our efforts towards Bowl Expo in Louisville, KY in June. Our continued focus will remain on ensuring that our future meetings and conferences are safe, fun and learning experiences for everyone who attends.
