TEAM FISH LEADER TROUP CLAIMS JULY IBMA BOWLER OF THE  MONTH

Kyle Troup, Taylorsville, North Carolina, has been voted as the July 2020 Kegel Bowler of the Month by the International Bowling Media Association.

Troup won the 2020 PBA Tour Finals defeating Anthony Simonsen, Little Elm, Texas, 40 to 39 in a ninth and tenth frame rolloff after tying in the Race to Two points title match. The PBA Tour Finals is Troup’s third win of the season and sixth career win.

In qualifying, Jakob Butturff, Tempe, Arizona, rolled the 28th nationally televised 300 game. Butturff lost to Simonsen, 2 to 0, in the Group 1 stepladder final.

After the leader of “Team Fish” posted a 299 game in the Tour Finals Group 2 qualifying round, he ousted Kris Prather, Plainfield, Illinois, 2 to 1 in the Group 2 stepladder Race to 2 final. After dropping the first game 227 to 213, Troup won the second match 257 to 232, then the tie-breaking ninth and tenth frame rolloff 60 to 49, setting up the title match with Group 1 winner Simonsen. 

Also receiving votes this month were Darren Tang, winner of the Columbus HP 10K Mega Singles Event and the PBA SouthPoint Member/Non-Members Doubles with Alex Hoskins, Kris Prather, winner of the PBA King of the Lanes, Jason Couch, winner of the QubicaAMF Some Strings Attached Open and runner up of the QubicaAMF Some Strings Attached Invitational, Kenny Ryan, winner of the QubicaAMF Some Strings Attached Invitational, and Anthony Simonsen, runner up in the PBA Tour Finals.
