BCAW to Host Four USA Bowling Coaching Seminars

Last winter, USA Bowling (a joint program provided by USBC & BPAA) provided bowling centers with an opportunity to apply for a grant to host one of their popular “Youth Bowling Coaching Seminars.” BCAW requested permission to apply as the state proprietors’ association, and was awarded four to be held this summer here in Wisconsin, to supplement those already awarded in Racine and the Milwaukee Area. The USA Coaching seminars are an excellent start to begin to gain skills that will help folks coach beginning youth bowlers. The materials are fantastic! Once a coach completes USBC’s Registered Volunteer Program and has taken the Safe Sport components, they’re eligible to take the USBC Level I on line certification for free. We encourage anyone who wants to help out in a youth program to sign up for this FREEthree hour program.
Each attendee will be provided materials to take home with them developed by the USBC Coaching Certification and Development team. These materials include:

Manual – Over 140 pages of curriculum which includes everything from the coaching philosophy to physical game techniques and basic skill drills

8-week lesson plan – An easy to follow 14-page guide coaches may take on-lane from week-to-week and watch their bowlers progress through this readily developed lesson plan

Quick Reference Guide 1 and 2 – Double sided laminated sheets that feature a glossary of terms, on-lane drills and fundamentals

The following BCAW member centers will be the location for these four seminars:

Saturday 8/10/19 (10a-1p) Viking Bowl & Lounge in Colfax

Thursday 8/15/19 (6p-9p) Ledgeview Lanes in Fond du Lac
