Jakob Butturff , Tempe, Arizona has been voted as the August 2018 Kegel Bowler of the Month by the International Bowling Media Association
Butturff won his second Go Bowling! PBA Tour title of 2018, as well as two PBA regional crowns.
The Arizona left-hander downed Tom Daugherty, Riverview, Florida, 217-182 for the PBA Xtra Frame Kenn-Feld Group Classic in Coldwater, Ohio.
The stepladder finals began with fourth-seeded Brad Angelo, Lockport. New York ousting the defending champion Rhino Page, Orlando, 228-225. The second-seeded Daugherty defeated Angelo, 226-188, setting up the title match with Butturff.
The two regional wins were the PBA Midwest Region GloBowling Open, presented by 900Global in Marengo, Illinois and the PBA West Region Tony Reyes Memorial Member/ Non-Member Doubles in San Jose, California with Ryan Nikolas.
Now with the second title this season, Butturff has added his name for 2018 PBA Chris Schenkel Player of the Year consideration with the other two-time titlists, Andrew Anderson, E.J. Tackett, and reigning PBA Player of the Year Jason Belmonte.
Also receiving votes this month were Stefanie Johnson, winner of the Nationwide PWBA Players Championship, Anthony Simonsen, winner of the PBA Xtra Frame Gene Carter’s Pro Shop Classic, Rocio Restrepo, Central American/ Caribbean Games Women’s Doubles gold medalist with Clara Guerrero, and Chris Barnes, winner of the World Bowling Tour New Mexico Open.

Brian grew up in New York before moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1991. He has been involved in writing for his own bowling publication called “Striking Spotlight.” He has been published in the Desert Bowler Newspaper, Windy City News Newspaper and the Bowlers Journal. Hirsch is a Youth Director in the Kenosha USBC and a former Director for the Metro Phoenix USBC. As a Level 1 and RVP USBC coach, he can be found coaching his wife Amber and their son Masen each Saturday morning. Hirsch currently has (6) 300’s and (4) 800’s and is a member of the International Gay Bowling Organization where he is a five-time IGBO Champion and a six-time Arizona State Grand Canyon State Games Medalist. The Hirsch’s moved to Wisconsin to be closer to family and assist the Freedom Farm for Vets. Hirsch’s home bowling center is Sheridan Lanes, located in Kenosha, WI.
