IBMA To Recognize Visual Media With Own Awards in 2023
New awards program from the IBMA will offer recognition in four categories of emerging and established media coverage of the sport of bowling.
ORLANDO, June 27, 2023 – The International Bowling Media Association (IBMA) announced that awards for those media members participating in “visual media” are being established, and will be awarded in four categories for media produced during the 2023 calendar year. The categories for 2023 will be:
1 – Podcast – May be Audio, Video, or Both – Award(s) consideration will be given to submitted episodes, not a series. A podcast producer may submit a maximum of two episodes for review and award consideration.2 – Livestream Tournament Coverage – Award(s) consideration will be given to submitted events, not a series. A livestream tournament producer may submit a maximum of two events for review and award consideration.3 – News Feature or Documentary Video – Award(s) consideration will be given to submitted features or documentaries. A producer may submit a maximum of two videos for review and award consideration.4 – Still Photography               A – News Feature/Documentary Accompaniment               B – ArtisticFor Still Photography – Award(s) consideration will be given to submitted photos; the accompaniment does not have to be submitted for that category. Photographers may submit a maximum of three photographs in each sub-category for review and award consideration. Requirements for Submission & Review for Awards:The submitter must be or become an IBMA member during the 2023 calendar year; and must be a 2024 IBMA member at the time of submission for review.Any submission must have been produced & released to the public during the 2023 calendar year.A completed submission form must accompany EACH submission. If the media is published on publicly available websites, the website address will need to be provided by the submitter. If the media is published on a private or subscription website, the media to be reviewed must be submitted by: A – Access to that host website, either by access code or file share. B – File upload to a Google Drive site, that IBMA Visual Media Award judges can access.Submissions will be accepted between January 15 and February 15, 2024.Submissions will be reviewed by the judging committee(s) between February 20 and March 20, 2024.Winners will be released as close to March 30, 2024 as possible.A webpage containing necessary “IBMA Visual Media Awards” information is currently in process of being created at http://www.bowlingmedia.org and will be available shortly.
